Delta Dental Foundation Awards $350,000 in Community Health Grants
OKEMOS, Mich. – Fifty-four community organizations in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana will receive a total of nearly $350,000 in funding from the Delta Dental Foundation (DDF) Mini-Grant Program this year. The mini-grants will support a variety of community oral health initiatives, including purchasing equipment for safety-net dental clinics, supporting medical-dental integration, encouraging age 1 dental visits, training dental assistants on the job and more.
The Mini-Grants Program is a grantmaking initiative designed to support community organizations and programs that promote or provide oral health care and initiatives that align with the DDF’s strategic aims. Each grant is limited to a maximum of $10,000.
“We know that many nonprofits are facing unprecedented challenges right now,” said Holli Seabury, EdD, executive director of the DDF. “Our hope is that these grants will fill gaps and enable our community partners to continue running the oral programs their communities depend on.”
Recipients were selected based on the number of people served (and the impact of the program on said population), the program’s originality, the program’s level of community involvement and the applicant’s ability to measure success. This year's grantees include:
