    New Grants and Funding Initiatives

    The Delta Dental Foundation (DDF) recently approved more than $1.3 million in grants to fund initiatives in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana:

    • $324,584 to Cincinnati Health Department to equip a school-based dental center at Roberts Academy.
    • $300,000 to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services to support the SEAL! Michigan program and community water fluoridation.
    • $205,996 to Pope Francis Center to create a dental center within the new Bridge Housing Campus in Detroit to care for people experiencing homelessness.
    • $152,575 to Neighborhood Family Practice to expand their Cleveland dental clinic.
    • $80,000 to Gary Burnstein Community Health Clinic to host University of Michigan School of Dentistry dental interns and increase overall patient capacity.
    • $50,000 to Marram Health Center to provide dentures, bridges and dental crowns to patients in Gary, Indiana, who would not otherwise be able to afford dental care.
    • $30,000 to Warren Arts & Education Foundation to support the dental careers pathway program for Warren Township, Indiana, high school students.
    • $15,276 for Nationwide Children’s Hospital Foundation to train dental professionals in quality improvement and increase the number of children seen by a dentist at local Federally Qualified Health Centers under age 2.5.
    • $15,000 to The Davies Project to provide rides to dental appointments in the Lansing area and educate families about the importance of oral health.
    • $10,000 to Presbyterian Villages of Michigan Foundation to create a fund to address dental emergencies for low-income seniors.
    • $10,000 to 85 Hope Medical Clinic for a dental care referral program in Indiana.
    • $9,571 to Catherine’s Health Center to purchase an additional dental chair for their 36th Street dental clinic in Grand Rapids.
    • $7,981 to The Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital to conduct a research study on dental codes used in emergency departments.
    • $5,000 to Hygiene on Wheels for supplies to provide free dental care for children and adults in Lincoln Park, Michigan.
