New Grants and Funding Initiatives
The Delta Dental Foundation (DDF) recently approved more than $630,000 in grants to fund initiatives in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana:
- $107,986 to the National Network for Oral Health Access to support a learning collaborative for community health centers to train and support oral health professionals in caring for patients with disabilities.
- $101,000 to Indiana University to conduct research that will monitor wastewater for oral diseases to understand disparities, the effect of fluoridation and overall community health.
- $100,000 to iAmerica Centers for the purchase of equipment to build a three-chair dental clinic in Detroit.
- $50,000 to Grace Health to upgrade their six-chair dental clinic in Albion, Michigan.
- $50,000 to Honor Community Health for the purchase of equipment to modernize and enhance capabilities in Pontiac, Michigan.
- $40,000 to Northwest Michigan Health Services for the purchase of equipment to support the oral health of patients with diabetes, hypertension and obesity.
- $40,000 to Rocking Horse Children’s Health Center for equipment to expand the school-based health center at Springfield High School in Ohio.
- $40,000 to the Warren Arts & Education Foundation to support the dental careers program at Walker Career Center in Indianapolis.
- $20,000 to Damien Center for the purchase of equipment to support their six-chair dental clinic in Indianapolis.
- $20,000 to the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County in Indianapolis to purchase equipment and supplies.
- $20,000 to My Community Dental Centers to provide no-cost dental care to veterans in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
- $15,000 to MedWish Medworks to provide free dental care to youth at the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Detention Center in Ohio.
- $10,000 to Big Smile Mobile to purchase equipment for the PA 161 mobile dental hygiene program based in Detroit.
- $10,000 to the Davies Project to connect people with dental care and present oral health information in the Lansing area.
- $7,000 to HOPE Family Care Center for supplies and equipment to provide free dental care to uninsured and underinsured patients in Cicero, Indiana.
