New Grants and Funding Initiatives

The Delta Dental Foundation (DDF) recently approved more than $1.4 million in grants to fund initiatives in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana:

  • $320,000 to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services to support SEAL! Michigan to provide free dental sealants to Michigan schoolchildren.
  • $300,000 to American Dental Hygienists Association for year two of Hygienist Inspired, a chairside recruitment program designed to strengthen the profession and address dental hygiene workforce shortages.
  • $200,000 to American Academy of Developmental Medicine & Dentistry for phase two of the National Inclusive Curriculum for Health Education to train dental students to provide care to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • $114,421 for the MetroHealth Foundation to purchase digital dental equipment to provide same-day crowns and train dental residents in the Greater Cleveland area.
  • $75,000 to Akron Children’s Hospital to purchase a Solea laser for pediatric patients at the Celeste Myers Dental Clinic.
  • $61,470 to Trinity Community Care in Shelby Township, Michigan, to replace outdated equipment.
  • $54,400 to Mid-Michigan Health Department to purchase a van to deliver care under the Kindergarten Oral Health Assessment and Varnish! Michigan programs.
  • $50,000 to the Detroit Public Schools Foundation for the DPSCD Health Hubs program, connecting students and their families to dental care.
  • $44,779 to the Health Department of Northwest Michigan to purchase a van for community and school oral health services.
  • $42,000 to Third Street Family Health Services in Mansfield, Ohio, to purchase nine dental chairs to replace old, outdated equipment.
  • $35,000 to Smiles on Wheels for year six of the Serving Smiles to Seniors program in Michigan.
  • $25,000 to Dental Lifeline Network for the Indiana Donated Dental Services program.
  • $20,886 to the University of Cincinnati Foundation to purchase equipment for the Blue Ash Dental Hygiene Clinic.
  • $20,000 to The Old Newsboys Goodfellow Fund of Detroit to support dental care through the University of Detroit Mercy Titans for Teeth program.
  • $17,500 to Crossroads of Michigan to provide mobile dental care and Medicaid enrollment support to Detroiters.
  • $10,000 to Covenant Community Care to purchase equipment for their Detroit-area mobile dental clinic.
  • $10,000 to Crawford County Public Health to purchase supplies for an Ohio GuardCare event.
  • $10,000 to OVP Health Care to purchase equipment for a mobile dental unit providing care in Proctorville, Ohio.
