New Grants and Funding Initiatives

The Delta Dental Foundation (DDF) recently approved more than $1 million in grants to fund initiatives in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana:

  • $320,000 to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services to support SEAL! Michigan, which provides free dental sealants to Michigan schoolchildren.
  • $200,000 to the American Dental Hygienists Association for Hygienist Inspired, a chairside recruitment program designed to strengthen the profession and address dental hygiene workforce shortages.
  • $125,000 to MyCare Health Center to support a community health center pilot program with the Michigan Primary Care Association focusing on critical medical-dental integration outcomes in Center Line, Michigan.
  • $75,000 to the Ohio Department of Health to help Ohio communities purchase fluoridation equipment.
  • $55,802 to Northeast Ohio Medical University Foundation to purchase equipment to launch the Bitonte College of Dentistry Endodontic program in summer 2027.
  • $50,000 to Marion Technical College Foundation to support the development and implementation of a dental hygiene program.
  • $39,500 to Planet Smilez to host a Discovering Dentistry Symposium, which will introduce Indianapolis-area high schoolers to oral health careers, at the American Dental Association 2026 Scientific Session.
  • $25,000 to Detroit Public Schools Community District Foundation for dental supplies for their Health Hubs program.
  • $25,000 to The Old Newsboys Goodfellow Fund of Detroit to support dental care for children in partnership with the Detroit Mercy Mobile Clinic Program at seven locations in metro Detroit.
  • $20,000 to My Community Dental Centers to provide follow-up care for veterans who participated in the Veterans Day of Care program in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
  • $20,000 to Youngstown State University to purchase equipment for their dental hygiene program.
  • $20,000 to Stowe Mission in Columbus, Ohio, to purchase dental supplies for two additional clinics.
  • $15,000 to Family Health Services in Sandusky, Ohio, to purchase new equipment.
  • $15,000 to Lower Lights Health in Columbus, Ohio, for a new dental radiography machine.
  • $10,000 to Athens City County Health Department for Guardcare 2026, an event providing free health and dental services through the Ohio National Guard.
  • $10,000 to Smiles on Wheels for the Serving Smiles to Seniors program, providing oral health assessments and hygiene materials to seniors across Michigan.
  • $10,000 to University of Cincinnati to purchase dental supplies for the 2026 Remote Area Medical clinic, which provides free medical, dental and vision services.
  • $6,900 to Wayne State University to support a Michigan-based champion for the 100 Million Mouths Campaign, a national initiative that trains primary care professionals to integrate oral care into routine, primary and educational settings.
