    New Grants and Funding Initiatives

    The Delta Dental Foundation (DDF) recently approved more than $2 million in grants to fund initiatives in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana:

    • $437,083 to Corktown Health to equip a new dental clinic being constructed in Hazel Park, Michigan.
    • $250,000 to Northeast Ohio Medical University Foundation to purchase simulation clinic equipment for the newly established Bitonte College of Dentistry.
    • $240,000 to The Ohio State University to provide scholarships for dental students committed to serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities after graduation.
    • $200,000 to Covenant Community Care to support a dental residency program at a Federally Qualified Health Center in Detroit.
    • $100,000 to University of Cincinnati Foundation to replace equipment at the Blue Ash Dental Hygiene Clinic.
    • $100,000 to Ingham County Health Department to equip a 10-chair dental clinic which will become a Center for Inclusive Dentistry.
    • $100,000 to Malta Dental and Medical Clinic to equip a new clinic location in Detroit.
    • $100,000 to TeamSmile to support free dental care events for children in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana over the next three years.
    • $85,505 to Regents of the University of Michigan to survey behavioral health providers about their oral health knowledge with the goal of developing a related continuing education program.
    • $75,000 to America’s ToothFairy to provide resources to school nurses in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana to care for students’ oral health.
    • $50,000 to HealthSource of Ohio to increase capacity for the mobile dental care program for West Clermont schoolchildren.
    • $50,000 to Third Street Community Clinic to build accessible dental operatories in Mansfield, Ohio.
    • $49,980 to the Institute for Exceptional Care to support provider training in caring for people with disabilities.
    • $48,819 to Van Buren/Cass District Health Department to purchase a mobile unit to serve children and young adults in southwest Michigan.
    • $41,240 to My Community Dental Centers to increase the number of dental chairs in their Marquette, Michigan location.
    • $40,000 to Medworks to offer a free dental clinic in 2024 for more than 1,000 people in northeast Ohio.
    • $34,940 to Smiles on Wheels for year five of the Serving Smiles to Seniors program, which provides free dental screening and referrals, and oral health education for seniors at congregate meal sites in Michigan.
    • $25,000 to Impression 5 Science Center to support STEM kits for Lansing-area Head Start children that include oral health resources and oral health career exploration.
    • $25,000 to Michigan Dental Association Foundation to support the 2024 Mission of Mercy event in Flint on June 14 to 15.
    • $20,000 to Catherine’s Health Center to support free dental care for refugees in Kent County, Michigan.
    • $19,058 to HealthLinc to address diabetic retinopathy through integrated medical and dental care.
    • $18,813 to Holland Free Health Clinic to purchase new dental operatory equipment.
    • $16,000 to Healthy Smiles of Indiana to purchase equipment to provide dental care to school children in Indianapolis.
    • $10,000 to the University of Michigan to purchase clinic equipment for the Victors for Veterans program in Michigan.
    • $10,000 to Honor Community Health to update equipment at their clinic in Pontiac, Michigan.
    • $10,000 to The Centers in northeast Ohio to purchase clinic equipment.
    • $9,828 to McMillen Health to support oral health education in Braille through Visually Impaired Preschool Services in Indiana.
