New Grants and Funding Initiatives
The Delta Dental Foundation (DDF) recently approved more than $1.7 million in grants to fund initiatives in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana:
- $859,862 to the University of Cincinnati Foundation to equip a dental clinic specifically designed for adults with developmental disabilities at the Timothy Freeman, MD, Center for Developmental Disabilities.
- $200,000 to Campbell City School District to equip an eight-chair school-based dental clinic for the Mahoning Valley Wellness and Rehabilitation Center.
- $150,000 to Great Lakes Bay Health Centers to purchase an additional mobile dental unit.
- $120,000 to the University of Michigan for the Victors for Veterans program, which provides dental services to veterans at clinics throughout Michigan.
- $100,000 to McMillen Health to support the Brush Curriculum for Head Start programs and adults with chronic health conditions.
- $50,000 to Kent State University to train a cohort of eight dental community health workers in Ohio.
- $48,246 to NorthShore Health Centers to purchase equipment for each of NorthShore’s seven dental clinics.
- $39,288 to Planet Smilez for two one-day programs to expose high school students to careers in dentistry in partnership with Indiana University School of Dentistry.
- $38,660 to Ingham County Health Department for the Forest Community Dental Center mobile dental unit that administers the sealant program to Lansing area students.
- $30,000 to Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine for a pilot program to create a sustainable, reimbursable model for diabetes screening in academic dental care.
- $25,000 to ITNAmerica to provide subsidized rides to dental appointments for older adults and people with mobility challenges.
- $25,000 to the Michigan Dental Association Foundation for the 2026 Mission of Mercy event in Kalamazoo, providing two days of free dental care and education.
- $10,000 to Five Rivers Health Centers for the purchase of dental laboratory equipment for the new Xenia campus dental clinic.
- $10,000 to National Network for Oral Health Access for their Oral Health Leadership Institute, a year-long, hybrid career development training for leaders of oral health programs at community health centers and safety-net clinics.
- $10,000 to The Centers to purchase equipment for their dental clinic in Cleveland.
