New Grants and Funding Initiatives
The Delta Dental Foundation (DDF) recently approved nearly $831,000 in grants to fund initiatives in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana:
- $300,000 to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services to support community water fluoridation and sealants for Michigan school children.
- $200,000 to Wayne County Health Communities to equip a new, six-chair dental clinic at Garden City Hospital.
- $75,000 to My Community Dental Centers to assist with capacity building and staff development.
- $54,400 to District Health Department No. 2 and No. 4 to enhance mobile dental services for the Kindergarten Oral Health Assessment program and Varnish! Michigan.
- $54,358 to Cuyahoga Community College Foundation for equipment to support a dental hygiene program expansion and reduce their student waiting list.
- $47,700 to the City of Ironwood to support community water fluoridation in Ironwood, Michigan.
- $25,000 to MedWish Medworks to provide dental services at the juvenile detention center in Cuyahoga County, Ohio.
- $20,000 to the Davies Project to support oral health education and transportation to dental appointments for families with seriously ill children in Lansing, Michigan.
- $20,000 to Warren Arts & Education Foundation to purchase equipment and supplies to support their dental careers program in Indianapolis, Indiana.
- $19,500 to the Ohio State University to purchase a scanner for the general practice residency program to treat patients with disabilities.
- $10,000 to The Shelter Association of Washtenaw County to provide dental services to people experiencing homelessness in partnership with University of Michigan School of Dentistry.
- $5,000 to Ivy Tech Community College for dental supplies and equipment to support the dental assisting program at the Ivy Tech Free Dental Clinic in Lafayette, Indiana.
