New Grants and Funding Initiatives

The Delta Dental Foundation (DDF) recently approved nearly $1.3 million in grants to fund initiatives in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana:

  • $444,500 to the American Dental Hygienist Association for the development and pilot costs of a national chairside dental hygienist recruitment program to increase diversity in the profession.
  • $359,862 to University of Cincinnati Foundation to equip four operatories designed for adult patients with developmental disabilities.
  • $100,000 to Shawnee State University to replace dental hygiene program dental chairs.
  • $76,783 to Hope Medical Clinic to upgrade dental equipment at their clinic in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
  • $68,746 to Trustees of Indiana University to enhance LGBTQIA+ cultural sensitivity among dental faculty and students at Indiana University School of Dentistry.
  • $65,000 to Hope Medical Clinic for the emergency dental care navigation program, which will facilitate direct referrals for uninsured patients who seek care in the emergency department at Trinity Health.
  • $43,131 to Greene County Combined Health District to support GuardCare 2024, a free dental care event provided by Ohio National Guard personnel.
  • $37,760 to University of Michigan to expand access to craniofacial and dental subspecialty care.
  • $25,000 to Michigan Department of Health and Human Services to support community water fluoridation.
  • $20,000 to National Network for Oral Health Access for the Oral Health Leadership Institute.
  • $10,000 to the 500 Festival to support oral health education in the KidsFit Program, which teaches more than 8,000 Indianapolis-area children lifelong healthy habits.
  • $10,000 to Columbus Community Host Group to provide free dental care through the Remote Area Medical (RAM) Clinic.
  • $10,000 to New Smiles, New Beginnings for mobile dental care in Jackson, Michigan.
  • $9,517 to Catherine’s Health Center to purchase a dental chair for their clinic in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
  • $8,415 to HealthPath Foundation of Ohio to provide oral health education to health professionals across Ohio as part of the 100 Million Mouths Campaign.
